In collaboration with our partner X-MET Limited, the CONVERTER has been approved by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to process regulated garbage. This approval highlights its compliance with stringent standards set by the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) to safeguard American agriculture.

APHIS plays a critical role in preventing the introduction of harmful animal and plant pests and diseases into the U.S. One key measure is the effective management and mitigation of regulated garbage, including International Catering Waste, at U.S. ports and airports. The CONVERTER provides a reliable and efficient solution to ensure compliance while supporting biosecurity efforts and protecting agricultural welfare.

The CONVERTER is now approved for use across the United States to process regulated garbage, transforming waste into sterile, inert flock. This byproduct can be repurposed as fuel or disposed of safely as domestic waste, ensuring compliance with stringent biosecurity measures.

Additionally, in partnership with X-MET Limited, OMPECO has received approval from the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) of the UK’s Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA). This approval allows the CONVERTER to serve as a pre-treatment solution for handling International Catering Waste (Category 1 ABP) within the UK’s regulatory framework. The CONVERTER significantly enhances biosecurity by improving the movement and handling of this high-risk waste.

Regulatory Approvals:

  • APHIS Regulations: Title 9 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 94.5 and Title 7 CFR 330.400

  • APHA Regulations: Handling Plant Approval, Animal By-Products (Category 1 Waste)

With these certifications, the CONVERTER stands as a cutting-edge solution for regulated waste processing, supporting global efforts in biosecurity and sustainability.
